Whether you’re moving to a new home, relocating your business, or need to update your current electric service, HREA makes it easy for you to start, stop, or transfer your service with clear instructions and resources.

Start New Service

Residential Electric Service

To start residential electric service, complete the New Residential Member Application Form (PDF) and bring it to our office:
600 Market Place Suite 104, Bridgeport WV 26330

Please bring your lease or purchase agreement, valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport), and social security card.
Membership fee, application fee, and security deposit will be due upon application. Payment options include cash, check, money order, or credit card.

Business Electric Service

Business customers please fill out the New Business Member Application Form (PDF) and deliver it to the same address above.

Meter Pole Installation

For information on meter pole requirements, please view the Minimum Requirements for Meter Pole Installation (PDF).

Stop Service

Contact 304-624-6365 during office hours to stop service.
Requests processed Monday-Friday; allow up to five business days.

Transfer Service

Current members can transfer service by calling 304-624-6365.
New members should start service as above.
Transfers processed Monday-Friday; allow up to five business days.
