Whether you’re moving to a new home, relocating your business, or need to update your current electric service, HREA makes it easy for you to start, stop, or transfer your service with clear instructions and resources.

Residential Electric Service

  • Please bring your lease or purchase agreement, valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport), and social security card.

  • Membership fee, application fee, and security deposit will be due upon application. Payment options include cash, check, money order, or credit card.

Business Electric Service

  • Contact us if you need assistance with commercial service start-up.

  • Contact 304-624-6365 during office hours to stop service.

  • Requests processed Monday-Friday; allow up to five business days.

Transfer Service

  • Current members can transfer service by calling 304-624-6365.
  • New members should start service as above.
  • Transfers processed Monday-Friday; allow up to five business days.
